What Watch Would Historical Figures Have Worn?

Imagine for a moment that you're H.G. Wells, Ben Franklin, or Florence Nightingale. You've got some free time on your hands, a bag full of cash, and a handy time machine. (Maybe only H.G. Wells has a time machine, but it's our story and we can imagine anything we want.)

You've finished dinner and want to give your time machine a spin. If you're a famous historical figure, or anyone for that matter, certainly your first order of business when arriving a century or more in the future is to go watch shopping.

But what watch to buy?  I thought about this and came up with a list of watches that some historical figures would want to have on their wrists when they return back to their own time.
